Spiramycin is an antibiotic that belongs to the class of medications called macrolide antibiotics. It is used to treat certain types of infections that are caused by bacteria. It is most commonly used to treat infections of the lung, skin, and mouth. Spiramycin is sometimes used to treat gonorrhoea for people who are allergic to penicillin. Do not use spiramycin if you are allergic to spiramycin or to any of the ingredients of the medication or using it to treat meningitis.
