Desflurane, an inhalation anesthetic drug, is indicated for the induction of anaesthesia during surgical procedures in adults. Desflurane can be employed for the maintenance of anesthesia in children and infants. However, Desflurane is contraindicated in non-tubated children due to risk of secretions, respiratory adverse events including laryngospasm and coughing.
