• Carboplatin+BCG- If you are currently being treated or have recently been treated with carboplatin, you should talk to your doctor before receiving BCG. Depending on the dose and length of time you have been on carboplatin, you may be at risk for developing an infection from the vaccine or have a reduced response to the vaccine. You may be more likely to develop serious and potentially life-threatening infections as a result. You should seek immediate medical attention if you have signs and symptoms of infection such as fever, chills, diarrhoea, sore throat, muscle aches, shortness of breath, blood in phlegm, weight loss, red or inflamed skin, body sores, and pain or burning during urination.

Mechanism of action

Carboplatin belongs to a class of medication called antineoplastic or alkalyting agents. It is a platinum-containing compound. Carboplatin kills cancer cells by binding to cell’s DNA and interfering with the repair mechanism of the cell at all stages of the cell cycle, eventually leading to cell death. It thereby slows down or stops the growth of cancer cells in the body.
