Lithium test is performed to detect the amount of lithium present in your blood. Though lithium is used to cure few chronic disorders, if the amount of lithium increases in your blood, it can further cause many of the dangerous diseases.

Lithium test is done through a simple blood test. It is a very simple and easy test to give does require any complex process. Lithium is used to cure patients with bipolar disorders or the manic disorders.

A bipolar disorder is like extremely low mood or extremely excited mood and to treat patients suffering from depression. The doses of lithium must be adequate and according to the requirement of the patient and any extra doses can cause toxicity in blood.

Usually, the doses are given in smaller amount and through lithium test the level is then adjusted according to the requirement of the patient.
